
About Us
The Vigo County Fairgrounds, located in Terre Haute, Indiana, is a 135-acre, privately owned, multi-use facility. It is owned and operated by the Wabash Valley Fair Association (WVFA), a private, non-profit organization established in 1940. The WVFA is notable as the operator of one of only two privately owned fairgrounds in the state of Indiana.

Our History
The tradition of the Vigo County Fair is long-standing, with the first event held on October 16, 1852.
WVFA Formation (1940): The current association was formed, and the fair has been held annually at the current location since then.
Youth Focus: Since the late 1920s, 4-H programs have been a central pillar of the association's mission, supporting youth education, agriculture, and community building.​
Operational Structure & Funding
As a non-profit organization, the WVFA relies on diverse funding streams to maintain its extensive property and operations:Governance: Oversight is provided by a dedicated volunteer Fair Board. Primary Revenue Sources: Facility rental fees for events, parties, and meetings. Private donations and corporate sponsorships.

Community Investment: The association also seeks and receives grant funding and community contributions.
